Every year in the Parish we run an Alpha Course. The venue varies each year - in the last four years we have met in St Mary's Church,St Mary's Parish Rooms, in the Gallery Café in Honley and in Brockholes Village Hall.  We usually meet on a Thursday evening from 7.00 until 9.15 p.m.

The Course lasts 10 weeks and covers the basics of the Christian faith.  The evening starts with a meal, followed by a talk. After a brief stop for coffee and cake, the evening concludes with a short discussion on the topic covered in the talk. There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and no question is too small or silly - here's your chance to ask those things about Christianity that you've always wondered about!

The talks cover such topics as: Why did Jesus die?, How does God guide us?, Why and how should I read the Bible?, How can I make the most of the rest of my life?

There is an Awayday half-way through the course which takes place on a Saturday at a church not too far away and where we cover topics related to the Holy Spirit.
